Your on Your Own!

November 2012

Many miss out on themselves as they journey through life. They know others, they know places, they know skills, they know their work, but they do not know themselves at all. We struggle to catch up with ourselves; we are so busy and distracted that we cannot dedicate enough time or recognition to the hidden depths within us.    READ THIS ENTRY

His Other Voice

September 2012

Didymos Thomas listened to Jesus teaching to individuals, small groups, and large audiences. The same core message was altered to resonate with the listeners; hence the use of Father, the One, the All. Within the Gospel of Thomas the majority of the logia are aspects Jesus's teaching faithfully recorded by Thomas; Thomas is the messenger.

When we hear of or see these marathon races we should remember that we are all taking part in our own endurance race; our own spiritual marathon.    READ THIS ENTRY

Children & Elephants

(March 2012)

Our personalities are governed by our ahamkara; our ego. It creates our self-image, our perceptions, and perhaps our values. It is the “I” that we use to define ourselves as unique creations different from others. It's how we see the world and how the world sees us; it's the outward facade that we project onto the world.    READ THIS ENTRY

Questions for us from Jesus

(January 2012)

Each New Year many people set out their hopes and plans for the coming twelve months; they become New Year Resolutions. By the end of January these 'good intentions' have normally be broken and by early spring most have been forgotten completely. We chide ourselves and vow to try harder next year. Perhaps it would be better if we were to ask ourselves questions that remind us of our intentions and allow us to monitor progress as well as adapt to any changes in our personal circumstances.
In the Gospel of Thomas, Jesus asks a lot of questions which forced his listeners to move beyond the words to a deeper understanding: "he who has ears to hear, let him hear".
Could these queries be our challenge in the coming year? READ THIS ENTRY
